Description:

The ECI was formed in 1999 and is a professional body run by volunteer coaches for the coaching industry. The ECI has an international focus, working with European Standards and Ethics; building, maintaining, and promoting best practice; raising awareness, while providing added value to it's members and the coaching industry.

Mission/Aims:

The purpose of the ECI is to:

1. promote and protect coaching standards and ethics

2. be a source of information to the public, to it's members, and to it's subscribers about coaching and the coaching industry - the history of coaching and how it can be usefully applied.

3. to explain to and work with each individual and/or organisation to select their own coach(es).

4. to provide a coach referral service, allowing each individual and/or organisation to select their own qualified and accredited coach(es).

5. provide a coaching forum for it's members

6. provide Research and Development White Papers to it's members

7. provide business building support to it's members

8. represent Coaching and the Coaching Industry to Statutory Bodies, European and Country governments, other professional associations, and to the media.

Principal Activities:

The ECI is an International Accreditation Body for Coaches and Coach Training Courses and Workshops.

Membership to the ECI is a simple process and can be found by selecting to become an Associate Member (Students, Accountants, HR professionals, or anyone interested in the coaching industry) or an Accredited Member (qualified coach represented by a generic internationally recognised standard). Training/Licensing/Certification:

The ECI's individual membership includes:

The ECI's course accreditation includes:

Full Coach Training Courses (CTECI)
Foundation Coach Training Courses (F2ECI / F1ECI)
Short Courses (SCECI)
Workshops (WSECI)

Verification Criteria:

Where the public select to use an Accredited Coach through the coach referral programme, they will be able to verify the coaches training and experience through the level of their accreditation - the coach should be able to provide a current certificate showing their accreditation level:

Accredited Practitoner Coach (PECI)
Accredited Corporate Coach (CECI)
Accredited Senior Coach (SECI)
Accredited Master Coach (MECI)
Accredited Fellow Coach (FECI)

Where the public select to use an Associate Member as a coach they will be able to verify whether the associate member is a trained coach without the internationally recognised accreditation standard. The coach should be able to provide an Associate Membership certificiate.

Where a student selects to train through an Accredited Training Course or attend an Accredited Workshop, the student will be able to verify the accreditation status of the training organisation. The training organisation should be able to provide a copy of their training course/workshop certificate.
