Description:

PACAWA is a state-based collegial association for psychotherapists and counsellors. It is the primary professional association broadly representing psychotherapists and counsellors in Western Australia and is a member of the national peak body, PACFA.

Mission/Aims:

PACAWA is committed to a high standard of membership, the professional support of its members, and to the ongoing development of the professions of psychotherapy and counselling.

Principal Activities:

Provides a forum for counselling and psychotherapy practitioners.
Provides collegial support and professional development.
Represents the interests of members at state and national levels.
Maintains standards of training and practice.
Provides a code of ethics and guidelines for ethical standards.
Increases awareness and understanding of counselling and psychotherapy in the broader community.
Facilitates the availability of professional counsellors and psychotherapists for the consumer.
