Description: Voluntary member-based, nationally-affiliated organization representing the professional interests and concerns of physiotherapists; advocating on their behalf; and enlarging the imprint of the physical therapy profession in Alberta.
Mission/Aims: With a unified voice, the Alberta Physiotherapy Association supports, promotes, educates and advocates on behalf of the profession to enhance the practice of physiotherapy in Alberta.
Principal Activities: Public awareness of the accessibility and utility of physical therapy services; government relations on behalf of the practice interests of physiotherapists; negotiation of third-party-payer contracts on behalf of physiotherapists.

Training/Licensing/Certification: None as a matter of routine. Courses offered to meet changing demands - business operations for physiotherapists in entrepreneurial private practice, and certain physiotherapy specialty courses (Sahrmann, ie).
