Description:

TPTA is the representative body of physical Therapy in Texas. TPTA empowers its members as professionals, acknowledged by consumers and other healthcare providers, as leaders in the diagnosis of, interventions for, and prevention of impairments and conditions that affect movement, function, health and wellness and whose services are directly accessible by all.

Mission/Aims:

The TPTA promotes pride and excellence in physical therapy as a healthcare profession that is dedicated to providing exceptional services to the public and its members through advocacy, education, and resources.

Principal Activities:

The following long range goals for were approved by the Texas Assembly:

1. Increase and enhance PT, PTA and student membership and promote awareness of the value of Association services.

2. Demonstrate professionalism through compassionate care, accountability, competency, and advocacy.

3. Proactively participate in policymaking and legislation to attain autonomous practice and appropriate reimbursement.

4. Educate members and stakeholders to create an environment that supports autonomous practice.
