Description:

The Saskatchewan Physiotherapy Association, initially formed in 1970 and incorporated in 1998, is the professional association for physiotherapists in Saskatchewan and is one of 10 provincial branches and 2 territorial councils of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA).

Mission/Aims:

The Saskatchewan Physiotherapy Association provides leadership to the physiotherapy profession, fosters excellence in practice, education and research, and promotes high standards of health in Saskatchewan.

Principal Activities:

Consultation and advocacy activities with government and other stakeholders.
Promotion of the physiotherapy profession.
Professional development and education.

Training/Licensing/Certification:

Continuing Physical Therapy Education (CPTE) is a collaborative program that was established by the School of Physical Therapy, University of Saskatchewan and the Saskatchewan Physiotherapy Association in 1996.

CPTE provides continuing education programs (post-graduate) that promote excellence and advancement of clinical practice in physical therapy and related health fields. Assessment of needs, program evaluation and integrated planning with clinical, academic and professional partners provides the basis for program development and improvement.
