Description: ENT UK is the front name for the British Association of Otorhinolaryngologists - Head & Neck Surgeons (BAO-HNS), which was founded in 1943 as the professional Association for British Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeons and related professionals.
The organisation was formed to promote the specialty at all levels, from regional to international level. It represented the interests of its members in areas of politics, finance and education.
Mission/Aims: The main objectives of ENT UK are to:
Improve the care available to patients suffering from conditions of the ear, nose, throat, head and neck
Promote the understanding of the range of conditions treated by the specialty
Provide information on the specialty to the general public and media
Encourage and support research within the specialty
Support and provide continuing education for specialists
Encourage recruitment into the specialty
Promote high standards in the training of specialists
Represent the specialty at the Royal Colleges of Surgeons and to government bodies
