Description: INDI is the professional national organisation for nutrition and dietetic professionals in Ireland. Membership of INDI is open to graduates with a BSc degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, a post-graduate diploma in Dietetics or a recognised qualification from a recognised educational institution.
Mission/Aims: The INDI's mission is to encourage, foster and maintain the highest possible standards in the science and practice of human nutrition and dietetics, to positively influence the nutrition status and health of the individual and the population in general.
Principal Activities: We aim to keep all our members and the general public updated with the most accurate information in relation to nutrition and dietetics. This is achieved in a number of ways:

Annual General Meeting and Annual Study Day
Member Benefits: Continuing Professional Development: Will become an integral part of all clinical nutritionists/dietitians daily practice with the imminent arrival of statutory registration. Clinical and non-clinical meetings are held as part of this developing area (generally on a monthly basis) on a variety of specialist topics. Guest speakers from a diverse range of backgrounds, as well as our own members present at these meetings.
Newsletter: The official newsletter of the INDI is "INDI Matters", and is published 6 times per year. Each edition features news, information and contributions from INDI Council and members.
Annual General Meeting and Annual Study Day: For the last couple of years the INDI have held their AGM & Annual Study Day conjointly in November to facilitate all its members. At the AGM new Council members are announced and issues of importance for the Institute are discussed and voted upon. Topics for the Annual Study Day are drawn from a variety of areas and in recent years have taken the form of workshops.

Verification Criteria: The public should check that the individual is a member of INDI and therefore should have the letters 'MINDI' after their name.
Additional Information: INDI is the only professional body representing Clinical Nutritionists/Dietitians that is recognised by the Department of Health and Children (Ireland).
