Description:

CNA is the professional voice of registered nurses in Canada. It is a federation of 11 provincial and territorial professional associations and regulatory bodies for registered nurses. CNA believes that the sustainability of a publicly funded, not-for-profit health system rests upon a vibrant nursing workforce.

Mission/Aims:

CNA Vision - Registered nurses collectively contributing to the health of Canadians and the advancement of nursing.
CNA Mission - To advance the quality of nursing in the interest of the public.

Training/Licensing/Certification:

CNA now offers certification in the following 14 nursing specialties: Cardiovascular (R), Critical Care (R), Critical Care– Pediatrics, Emergency (R), Gastroenterology, Gerontology (R), Hospice Palliative Care, Nephrology (R), Neuroscience (R) Occupational Health (R), Oncology (R), Perinatal (R), Perioperative (R), Psychiatric / Mental Health (R), (R)=Recertification

Offers Preceptorship workshop/mentorship project. Soon to present the Nurse Practitioner Exam.
