Description:

The Wisconsin Guild of Midwives is an organization providing support and education to midwives who work in homes and birth centers.

Mission/Aims:

To expand communications and to build support among Wisconsin midwives.
To promote midwifery as a quality health care option for women and their families.
To promote research and information in the field of midwifery care.
To establish channels of communication between midwives and other professional and consumer groups concerned with the health of women and their families in maternity care.

Verification Criteria:

Currently the only available credential is the Certified Professional Midwife credential from the North American Registry of Midwives. As of May 2007 state licensing will become available.
