Description:

The Association of Texas Midwives is dedicated to promoting midwifery in Texas. We are an association of Midwives, Midwifery Students, and Supporting Members. ATM is involved in legislation, education and related midwifery projects. Our members are the cornerstone of promoting safe, effective care in the changing face of maternity care in Texas!

Member Benefits:

ATM has many membership benefits for midwives, students and supporting members. We offer a free web page to all active midwife members. Continuing education, legislative alerts and calls to action are some of our benefits for members. ATM works closely with the authoritative agents governing midwifery in Texas to assure laws and rules that benefit midwives as well as midwifery consumers.

Training/Licensing/Certification:

ATM currently has a midwfery training program for people wishing to become licensed midwives. We also offer CEU's for currently licensed midwives.

Verification Criteria:

Midwifery in Texas is a licensed profession and as such is governed by the Department of State Health Services. Licensure can be verified through ATM or DSHS. ATM’s web site links consumers with midwives in their area.
