Description:

Professional medical education society, comprised primarily of Board-certified dermatologists who are practicing Mohs micrographic surgeons.

Mission/Aims:

To provide education to dermatologists and technicians in all aspects of the Mohs surgical procedure.

To furnish practice support for member Mohs surgeons.

To educate patients and other healthcare professionals regarding the benefits of the Mohs technique for the treatment of certain skin cancers.

To promote ongoing quality assurance through regular member evaluation.

To provide patient referrals to qualified Mohs surgeons.

Principal Activities:

Annual Mohs training course and clinical symposium
Observational preceptorships
Peer review QA program
Development of educational media for professional and patient audiences

Completion of an accredited ACGME or AOCD dermatology residency program or international equivalent
Residency or post-residency training in Mohs surgery
American Board of Dermatology or American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology certification or international equivalent
