Advocis is a national professional association that prepares, promotes and protects financial advisors in the public interest. We do this by providing a professional platform including career support, designations, best practices direction, education, timely information and professional liability insurance. This strengthens the relationship of trust and respect between financial advisors and their clients, the public, and government.

Mission/Aims:

For over 100 years this Association has helped build the financial services industry in Canada. It is through our Advocacy efforts on behalf of members, the industry and consumers and our unrelenting dedication to raising the level of professionalism in the industry that we contribute to our members’ ongoing success in this increasingly challenging business environment.

Principal Activities:

We prepare financial advisors with industry-leading products and services for new, experienced and established advisors alike.

We promote financial advisors and their professionalism to clients, the industry, the media, legislators and regulators.

We protect financial advisors against regulatory incursions and economic threats by regulators and legislators with our strong voice in the presence of government and regulatory bodies AND against potential E&O claims by providing comprehensive professional liability insurance, Loss Prevention and Control seminars and our Best Practices Manual and associated seminars.
