Description: The Professional Photographers Guild of Austin (PPGA) was established in 1950 by a small group of local working photographers who were also members of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA).
Mission/Aims: As a chapter guild of PPA, the purpose of the guild is to advance the art and profession of photography, to encourage and maintain cordial relations and interchange of creative thoughts of its members, and to oppose violations or infringement of rights of professional photographers. Guild members vow to operate their businesses with respect and honesty towards their clientele.
Principal Activities: PPGA regularly holds seminars and conferences to showcase the talents of local and national professional photographers. Members and its Board of Directors give freely of their time and experience to educate aspiring photographers in the Austin metropolitan area.
