Description:

The Shiatsu Society was set up in 1981 to facilitate communication within the field of Shiatsu and to inform the public of the benefits of this form of natural therapy. Since then, the Society has grown to form a network linking interested individuals, students and teachers, and to fulfill the role of Professional Association for Shiatsu Practitioners.

Principal Activities:

To promote Shiatsu and provide a register of practitioners for the public ensuring all practitioners recommended are fully qualified, insured and follow a Code of Ethics.

Quarterly newsletter, mentoring scheme, Annual Congress/AGM, discounted merchandising such as books, clothes, badges, leaflets etc., enews, website.

Training/Licensing/Certification:

Once a practitioner has completed their 3 year training and obtained a diploma from their school, they can then go on to be assessed indepently by us and achieve 'MRSS' status (Member of the Register of the Shiatsu Society).

A diploma from a recognised school where they have undertaken a minimum of 3 years training. MRSS certificate. Valid insurance policy. Membership card from the Shiatsu Society (UK).
