Description: We provide our members with a national voice and encourage high educational standards. Through our Code of Ethics, we promote ethical practices and teaching. We assist the public with referrals to CRA Registered Practitioners and Teachers and are committed to enlightening and educating our communities about Reiki.
Mission/Aims: The Canadian Reiki Association's goals are to ensure that all members maintain the highest levels of professionalism, adhere and abide by the code of ethics, to offer a safe and positive environment for clients and students, and to provide a national voice for our members.
Principal Activities: While CRA members support holistic healing, we understand that Reiki is not superior to allopathic or other complementary intervention, but rather is an additional method of addressing the issue. We believe in the therapeutic effectiveness of Reiki, both as a free-standing therapy and/or in conjunction with other modalities.
Member Benefits: The CRA provides Reiki Practitioners and Teachers with a common voice, so that we may be clearly heard when appropriate. quarterly newsletters help keep you up to date on social, legal, political and other issues from coast to coast
In many areas of the country, holistic practitioners of all modalities need to demonstrate membership in good standing in a holistic association in order to be granted a municipal business licence. All members receive a card indicating their affiliation with the Canadian Reiki Association. Registered Practitioners and Teachers receive a certificate attesting to their status and are permitted to use the designation RP-CRA or RT-CRA after their names. They are entitled to have their names listed in the CRA Directory, if they wish. All Registered members benefit from the CRA Referral network. Potential students and clients are directed to them.
The CRA directs members to a provider of low-cost professional liability insurance. When our members are sufficient, this same provider will offer a dental and extended benefit plan to CRA members. At this time, the following modalities are covered under this one policy: Acupuncture (added charge), Acupressure, Aromatherapy, Body Talk, Bowen Therapy, CranioSacral Therapy, Reflexology, Reiki, Shiatsu, Thai Massage, Therapeutic Touch, Touch for Health, and Chair Massage. More modalities are being added over time.
Training/Licensing/Certification: Membership certificate and card
Verification Criteria: A certificate and membership card showing the yearly sticker proving they are members in good standing.
Additional Information: Reiki Level 1, 2 for Practitioners and Reiki Master/Teacher certificates.
