Description:

The American Manual Medicine Association was created to represent physicians, allied medical professionals, medical acupuncturists, and medical manual therapists.

The AMMA seeks to promote manual medicine as an allied health care profession. This goal is achieved through establishing professional standards, education, and testing.

As our opportunities in the allied health field develop, AMMA wants to ensure that patients receive safe and scientific methods of therapy. It is imperative that laws and policies regulating manual medicine set the highest standards of education and health care.

Training/Licensing/Certification:

The AMMA offers national board certification through one of it’s psychometrically validated exam instruments. The AMMA offers continuing medical education in manual medicine and medical acupuncture.

Verification Criteria:

Graduate of an approved AMMA training center or model school.
Nationally board certified by the AMMA.
Certified, registered or licensed through a state or national process.

Additional Information:

In keeping with its educational mission the AMMA greatly accelerated and expanded its production of educational materials and now has numerous manuals, CD's, and DVD's available to its members on subjects related to medical massage, acupuncture, and alternative and complimentary medicine. The AMMA how has over forty educational products available. The AMMA also publishes the peer reviewed, advertising free, Journal of the American Manual Medicine Association
