Description:

The NBMA is a bilingual [English and French] language association of Registered Massage Therapists located in New Brunswick, Canada.

Mission/Aims:

The Mission of the New Brunswick Massotherapy Association is to provide support and professional development for its members, protection of the public, and in cooperation with other health-care professionals, to contribute meaningfully to the wellness of the public.

Principal Activities:

The NBMA promotes massage therapy and its therapists with the community at large, liaises with other professional associations and insurers, provides benefits to its membership, and works to have the profession of massage therapy regulated in the Province of New Brunswick.

Member Benefits:

Members of the NBMA automotically become member of the Canadian Massage Therapy Alliance and are therefore represented on the national scene, receive preferred rates for general liability insurance and have access to excellent group insurance [health and dental] plan.

Training/Licensing/Certification:

The NBMA is licensed to administer the trademarks related to Massage Therapy in New Brunswick and ensure that only those adequately trained use the term Registered Massage Therapist. This coupled with a complaints and discipline policy ensures that the public is protected until provincial regulation is achieved.

Members are required to display their Membership Certificate complete with annual seal in their clinic or office as evidence to the public of their continuing professional qualifications.
