Description:

The Michigan Medical Acupuncture Association is an authorized state chapter of the American Manual Medicine Association. Members of the American Manual Medicine Association and its national affilitate the American Medical Massage Association are members of the Michigan Medical Acupuncture Association if they reside in the state of Michigan and/or join the Michigan Medical Acupuncture Association. The Michigan Medical Acupuncture Association is an organization formed by and for practitioners of medical and practical acpuncture.

Mission/Aims:

The mission of the Michigan Medical Acupunctue Association is the promotion of evidence based acupuncture training and practice and the protection of the practice rights of its medical and practical acupuncture members.

Principal Activities:

The promotion of evidence based medical and practical acupuncture.
The protection of the practice rights of its members.
Provides training in medical and practical acupuncture.
Provides access to the AMMA NCE (national certification Exam).

Training/Licensing/Certification:

The MMAA provides access to ongoing continuing medical education in acupuncture and related subjects. The MMAA provides preparation and access to the American Manual Medicine Associations National Board Certification Examination process.

Training at a state licensed and/or accredited school. Professional certification, registration, and/or licensure.

Additional Information:

Medical and practical acupuncture utilizes research and conventional methods of health care. If an MMAA member is not a licensed medical physician then they are required, by membership rules, to work under the direct supervision of a licensed medical physician.
