Description: NADA is a nonprofit organization that relies primarily on volunteers. Dues of $65 a year from members help fund a full time office staff, defray the cost of training, and help pay for the production of Guidepoints: News from NADA, the official members’ newsletter issued six times per year. Members gather for conferences annually in both North America and Europe.
Mission/Aims: NADA directs its training and information programs towards persons in helping roles who are experienced in the field of addiction treatment and who have a commitment to helping those who still suffer.
Principal Activities: Training health workers in the NADA protocol; publishing related reference material; conducting an annual conference; publishing a newsletter.
Member Benefits: Subscription to Guidepoints: News from NADA newsletter published bi-monthly; discounts on reference materials and conference registration fees; consultation and referral from central office staff and board members concerning clinical and other issues.
Training/Licensing/Certification: 70 hour didactic/practicum training leading to certificate of completion as Acupucture Detoxification Specialist (ADS). Experienced ADSes may apply for mentorship program to become a NADA Registered Trainer.
Verification Criteria: ADS certificate of training completion.
For Registered Trainer, possession of current approved status per NADA Office.
