Description: The Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (AGCAS) is the professional association of careers practitioners in Higher Education. It numbers among its institutional members the careers services of all the universities and most of the major degree-awarding colleges in the UK and Ireland, as well as over individuals concerned with the delivery of careers information, advice and guidance to HE students and graduates both in the UK and overseas.
Mission/Aims: AGCAS is the professional association for HE careers practitioners, harnessing the expertise and resources of its membership for the collective benefit of its members, HE careers services, their clients and customers and the sector overall.
Principal Activities: Promoting excellence and innovation, equality of opportunity and continuous quality improvement in careers education, information and guidance in HE.
Providing high quality services and products that support and inform the delivery of careers education, information and guidance within HE.
Informing and influencing policies and agendas relating to careers guidance, graduate recruitment, employment and further study for the benefit of students and graduates, our members and the sector.
Developing and fostering local, regional, national and international networks and partnerships to further these key aims.
Ensuring that AGCAS as an organisation is properly constituted, structured and managed.

Training/Licensing/Certification: AGCAS provides a full programme of training and professional development. In partnership with the University of Reading, we offer an in-service professional qualification programme and there is an accredited CPD, which encourages on-going, systematic personal and professional development.
