How do we apply to the IDPA?
Simply complete and submit the online form.
How long will it take to review my application?
We aim to complete all reviews within 7 days. In some cases, further research is required to verify the information provided. We will contact you via email to let you know the status of your application.
How will my site be ranked in the listings?
Associations are ordered alphabetically within their appropriate section on the profession page, starting with International then followed by each country. Within a country, national Associations are displayed above Regional Associations. Featured at the top of the page is a "Country QuickJump" menu for rapid navigation. This layout is used to provide easy, logical browsing of the Directory.
How is information compiled and distributed?
The listings for the Directory are submitted by the association after which we verify the source and information before publishing. At present the information is "distributed" only via the website. We do not sell this information to buyers as a database. In the near future we will make the Directory available to select websites which have an audience of our core interest groups, to access the directory, in its entirety, directly from their site. However, please note these websites will not own or store your information, rather act as a portal to the IDPA.
How is the IDPA marketed?
As an online service, the IDPA is available 24/7/365 to anyone with internet access. We continually strive to become the first place that these people come to for information on Associations. To achieve this goal we use various marketing methods, including; search engine optimisation, features on key third party websites, reciprocal linking, press releases, etc. As we progress, further targeted marketing will be undertaken to the core interest groups - professionals, the general public, people looking for career information and media researchers, to name a few.
Are there any ways to maximise the visitors I receive?
By including a Reciprocal Link on your site to your IDPA profile page, you will ensure its inclusion in the search engines, appear more frequently in search results and increase its page rank, thus driving more visitors to your website. Learn more here.
Another way to maximise the above is to make sure your listing is as complete as possible. Search engines "look" at a page for relevancy and amount of content, so by including all the requested information will increase your popularity as well as providing a great service to your audience.
How do I update my listing?
Go to the Contact Us page and submit a message to the Listings Department specifying clearly the changes you would like them to make. Please include your full Association name and Member Number with the message.
